Iran's Revolutionary Guard has reportedly tightened its grip on one of the largest telecommunications company in Tehran for security purposes.
Sources told pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat in remarks published Thursday that the Revolutionary Guard now owns 51% of Tucci Telecoms Company after the payment of $5 billion to acquire 51% of the shares of a private company under the privatization law in Iran.
The sources said other companies were excluded from the competition "for security considerations."
They said the Revolutionary Guard's control over the largest telecoms company will keep the majority of phone conversations under direct military control |
